Indoor Bacana Collection

Fabrics:

Recycled Velvet: Sabai's Recycled Velvet fabric is made with 100% post-consumer recycled water bottles. It is both GRS and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified. This fabric is made in China as that is where the majority of recycling occurs.

 Upcycled Poly: Sabai's Upcycled Poly fabric is made from 100% Olefin, a byproduct of refining petroleum. The yarn is inherently stain repellent and therefore has not had any chemical treatments, and can be cleaned with household cleaning products (including bleach) without being damaged. While synthetic, this fabric actually performs better than many natural fibers on the Higg index as it does not require any land or water to be produced (including in the dyeing process). Our upcycled poly fabric is Greenguard Gold certified. Made in the USA. 

Hemp: 100% all natural Hemp material. 

4. Cactus Leather: Sabai’s Cactus Leather fabric is made from 40% Prickly Pear Cactus Skin, 60% bio-based polymer, and 100% recycled cotton backing. Bio-polymer is made from waste material from cactus food industry. It is REACH compliant, PETA-approved vegan, USDA-certified organic. Uses water-based adhesives. 60% of the material is biodegradable and contains 0% plastics.

Our fabrics have not been treated to avoid harmful chemicals and off-gassing. No flame retardants added to the fabrics. 

Materials: 90% of our materials are sourced within 100 miles of our NC and TN factories.

Frame: FSC-certified solid wood frame that is maple-stained in a warm, water-based finished called Nutmeg. It is nontoxic and manufactured in NC. The frame construction uses a non VOC glue that is non-toxic and solvent-free with no added formaldehydes. 

Legs: Wood legs made from maple scrapwood.

Cushions: Made with Natural Latex Foam made of 100% Natural Talalay (made from collected sap). Foam is vacuum sealed and flash-cooled, allowing for uniform density. No flame retardants. 

Outdoor Bacana Collection

Fabrics: 
1. Bananatex: Sabai's Bananatex fabric is biodegradable and made from banana leaf fibers. This is the fabric used on the outdoor back pillows and seat cushions.
2. Ottertex: Sabai's Ottertex fabric is made from 100% Polyester. It’s waterproof and PFA free. This is the fabric used on the outdoor Ottoman, Armchair, Loveseat, and Sofa covers. 

Our fabrics have not been treated to avoid harmful chemicals and off-gassing. No flame retardants added to the fabrics. 

Materials: 90% of our materials are sourced within 100 miles of our NC and TN factories. The frames and upholstery are made in High Point, NC.
Frame: FSC-certified thermal ash wood that is nontoxic. The frame does not have a finish. We recommend Tung Oil - https://www.rmpfinishes.com/shop/oils/pure-tung-chinawood/ - if customers want to add their own finish.
Legs: Legs made from thermal ash wood.
Cushions: Made with 100% Natural Talalay latex foam. Sap is collected from rubber trees and poured into a mold and baked. After the mold, the foam is vacuum sealed and flash cooled, allowing for uniform density. The flash cooling prevents the Talalay from getting the organic rating.
