Sabai means cozy, comfortable, and at ease in Thai, that's why we've made assembly simple. Below you can find the assembly videos for our slipcovers, as well as some tips from the team. If you have any questions on assembling your piece, feel free to contact us here, we're always happy to help.
Tips From The Team
Do not open our boxes with sharp objects - Sustainability is one of our core missions at Sabai Design, which is why we flat-pack all of our products into recycled cardboard boxes, without any use of plastic wrapping or excess packaging materials. For this reason, it is important to open our boxes carefully, especially when using sharp objects, so as not to damage the contents.
Our slipcovers fit like a glove - Our Slipcovers are designed specifically for your Sabai Design piece. They're meant to look upholstered once you have them on, and so they are a tight fit. When putting on the frame slipcover, we recommend sliding each arm down little by little ensuring you're able to get the cover over both arms.
Velcro - It is recommended to detach all velcro (if it's attached) before putting on the slipcover.
*Our newly launched Elevate Slipcovers come with a zipper on the backs.

Our newly launched Elevate slipcovers (November 2024) are available for all pieces in the Elevate Collection. Please note, that the Hemp slipcovers for the Elevate Sectional do NOT need to be ordered as left or right-facing, as they are designed to fit all configurations. *For the Reversible L Sectional only - please specify left or right configuration when facing the piece.
Corner Sectional Slipcovers
Our newly launched (March 2024) Corner Sectional Slipcovers are available for the Essential Collection! Below are some tips and tricks for assembly, as always feel free to reach out to our customer experience team if you have any questions!
*Note - If you have a 6-seat corner sectional, please ensure you order the left or right configuration when facing your corner sectional.
- Prepare the unit by removing all cushions and seat platforms. We recommend at least one other person to help in putting on the frame cover.
- Separate all of the velcro on the large, frame slipcover and drape it over the full corner sectional.
- Align the seams as best you can, and pull down the corner part first, covering the entire back and down the front of the seat.
- Align both arms and pull the sides down.
- Working from one side of the unit starting at the arm, wrap the back piece and front rail with the cover, aligning and engaging the velcro. Note: There are areas where the legs will need to be removed and then screwed back in. Do not tighten the legs fully until the full side of the cover is wrapped in place, this allows the for the cover to stretch where needed.
- On the inside corner unit, there are two areas where the corner unit seat meets the back and the corner unit seat meets the front rail. At these points the cover converges to three points of fabric, and the front rail section is pulled together and secured by the front leg near the corner unit.
- Repeat wrapping the cover and all the above steps on the other side of the unit.
- Put the seat platforms in place.
- Stuff pillow and cushion covers.
