Field Rug Cleaning & CareUpdated 2 years ago

We recommend spot-cleaning our wool and jute rugs.

Cleaning spills immediately can often prevent stains from setting in. Blot spills and remove as much moisture as possible with a clean, white, absorbent cloth or paper towel. Never rub a spill as rubbing forces it deeper into the fibers.

Remove any solids using a spoon or blunt knife. Always work from the edge of the stain inwards and scrape in the direction of the pile.

Remove any residual stain with clean, lukewarm water and mild dishwashing liquid (2 cups water mixed with 2 teaspoons mild, no lanolin, and non-bleach liquid detergent). Blot thoroughly to remove as much moisture as possible, and repeat the process until the stain no longer transfers to the cleaning cloth.

When dry, vacuum to restore texture.
