Below you can find the instructions for our Essential Seating Collection, as well as some tips from the team. Tips From The Team

Do not open our boxes with sharp objects - Sustainability is one of our core missions at Sabai Design, which is why we flat-pack all of our products into recycled cardboard boxes, without any use of plastic wrapping or excess packaging materials. For this reason, it is important to open our boxes carefully, especially when using sharp objects, so not to damage the contents.

Bolts & Screws - We recommend screwing all bolts in about halfway with your fingers (until you feel tension). Then, go through and screw all bolts in securely with the wrench provided. This helps ensure everything is properly aligned.

The Back - The best way to assemble the back piece is to line up both sides of the brackets at once. If you have a friend, we recommend each person take one side while sliding into the arms. If you're assembling alone, it can be helpful to use some cushions or other items to prop up one side of the back to align it when completing this step. 

Slipcovers - We recommend sliding the frame slipcover over both arms of the piece before pulling it down, little by little throughout the entire piece at once. This helps the creases stay aligned and eases the assembly. The slipcovers will feel very tight when putting them on, this is on purpose to create an upholstered look once you're done! 

Connecting the Ottoman  - If you're having trouble connecting your Ottoman to your Sofa to create your Sectional, we have some tips below!

1. This can be a common error, first make sure the ottoman is facing width-wise to the sofa body, not length-wise.

2. Try unscrewing the ottoman leg (the one you're putting the metal connector on) all the way, hooking the metal connector to the sofa leg, putting it over the hole in the ottoman base where the leg should go, then screwing the leg in through the ottoman connector.
